It's been a little while since the last QOTW, so I figured we'd get back into the swing of things.
I'm currently reading "The Undergrowth of Literature" by Gillian Freeman. It's about the rise and popularity of homosexual porn magazines in the late 60's. It's a very interesting read! It talks a lot about human nature and societal shame and stuff. If your of age and interested in that sort of stuff I'd highly recommend!

The last traditional novel that I read was 13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl by Mona Awad. It's a collection of short stories about a young plus-sized woman's experiences with relationships, mental health, and body image as she gets older and loses weight. It's a pretty interesting read.

the last book (well, graphic novel) i finished was persepolis by marjane satrapi, but i’m currently reading thomas bulfinch’s the age of fable and i’m about to start carmilla by j. sheridan lefanu! ^__^ i haven’t been very motivated to do it lately, but reading regularly is a personal goal of mine that i want to improve on because i miss reading as much as i used to when i was a kid.

Oh I haven't read Carmilla in AGES! I so totally get you, I think I used to read like 3-5 books a WEEK when I was in middle school... been trying to get back to reading as much, especially now that I have a wider access to books lol :P

if manga counts, i binged three nagata kabi mangas yesterday afternoon. her work is incredible but it's another one i'd only recommend if you're of age. i really enjoyed her solo exchange diaries volumes 1 & 2. they're beautiful and moving explorations of her mental health struggles and her complicated relationship with her family. she's very skilled at putting difficult to express feelings onto the paper. i'm also in the midst of reading wyrd sisters by terry pratchett! it's a fun parody of macbeth & shakespeare in general with some typical discworld-y nonsense thrown in. i'm really enjoying it! it's equal parts funny and wise. i truly think comedy is a great vehicle for deeper themes and discworld in general exemplifies that. i've been slooowly working my way through all of discworld. i only have, uh, 34 books to go.
