I think it'd be fun to do the classic forum-ask-game thing where you just get to just reply to a list of questions, except it's music related. You don't have to answer all of them in order or all at once or even at all. Just to get some conversation going The answers don't have to be goth-music-related. Just have fun. It's not an exam. Or is it??? - What song have you listened to most recently?
- What artist(s) can you never get enough of?
- What song(s) do you listen to when you're sad?
- Favorite song(s) when you're angry?
- Song(s) that gets you hyped?
- Song(s) that you HAVE to sing along to?
- Song(s) that you wish you could perform/sing?
- What artist do you think more people should listen to?
- Who is your "I heard them before they were cool" artist, if you have one?
- Do you play any instruments (vocals count)?
- What song, if any, has a special meaning or story for you?
- What song/artist is your guilty pleasure (or would be, if you aren't the type to feel ashamed)?
- What artist, if any, do you wish you could meet (or, if you've already met them, how did that go)?
- What artist/album/etc have you been wanting to deep dive when you get the time, if any?
- Playlists or albums (or a secret third thing)?
- How do you usually discover new music?
- Have you ever been to a live performance? If so, what artist(s)?
- If you've been to multiple, which was your favorite?
- When did you first start listening to music on your own?
- What was your first favorite artist (or the first one that had the most impact on you)?
(I'll do my own answers as a reply soon)

ough yay!! I love questions <3
5. Is definitely Chaos by Corpus Delecti, I always put that song on when I have too much energy to burn 6. You Can't Quit Me Baby by Queens of the Stone Age, it's just nice and i like the way my voice sounds singing it :3 9. Scary Bitches!!! I showed my brother them in like December 2021 and he told me later that they got like suuuppper popular bc of tik tok in like summer 22 12. I have a lottttt of differing tastes, but by far the one that makes everyone go 'huh??' is Cibbo Matto. I love Moonchild I can't help it

I will answer the first 10 because I forgot that I'm also awful at answering these things... i love overthinking
1. What song have you listened to most recently? Radkey - Dark Black Makeup
2. What artist(s) can you never get enough of? There are a lot (I love asking questions that I can't even answer personally ahaha). I can listen to the Cure forever. This Cold Night has also failed to let me down yet, I'm almost always down for New Order and Interpol... there are too many.
3. What song(s) do you listen to when you're sad? It depends on the type of sad really... I think I fall back on Radiohead a lot. Weirdly, I don't often get like, sad sad lately, but I have a sort of brooding baseline mood.
Navy Light by Labyrinth Ear is one that hits right if it's a very lonely vibe. No Halo by Sorority Noise is a go-to that I forget about sometimes... and a number of AJJ songs.
4. Favorite song(s) when you're angry?
Again it depends because different angers require different things. The Hand that Feeds by Nine Inch Nails is probably like. the most expected answer but it's good for raging to... Stitches - Orgy is also a go to (and Blue Monday).
5. Song(s) that gets you hyped? This one is endless because I love getting hyped up... Thin Flesh by Traitrs. Pain by Boy Harsher because I don't think I have ever skipped that song in my life. Face Meets Glass - Actors... uhh Beast Within - In This Moment...
6. Song(s) that you HAVE to sing along to?
Cities in Dust - Siouxsie and the Banshees. Most Siouxsie songs are sing-able to me, that one's tied with Spellbound in terms of "I can't not sing along with this".
7. Song(s) that you wish you could perform/sing? If my voice went deep enough I'd definitely scream along to Black No. 1 by Type O. I mean, I can try, I just run out of steam fast.
8. What artist do you think more people should listen to? Right now it'd have to be This Cold Night. They're not super obscure but doesn't seem to be mainstream by any means. TR/ST and Male Tears also make some good music.
9. Who is your "I heard them before they were cool" artist, if you have one? I have been following La Texana since his first youtube release, and that is also an artist that falls under the last question. I don't think he's broken into the "cool" end yet.
10. Do you play any instruments (vocals count)? I played the flute throughout school and I know how to play piano. I've tried playing bass but am so out of practice if I tried to get back into it I'd be re-learning the basics. I wouldn't say I'm good at singing but I do karaoke on a regular basis.
I might do the second half later on but this is it for now.

1.My last 10 most recent songs (from my last.fm page)
2. Can never have too much Joy Division, or the Sisters! For modern artists though Drab Majesty is my go-to. 3. A lot of Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil or any dreampop that's atmospheric and gloomy enough. The long version of Never Land by Sister of Mercy hits real hard though 4. Only the catchiest bangers when I'm angry! Helps me divert my attention to something else. I have a playlist actually! 5. These same songs actually aadsfg and if i'm not feeling any of these i break out the 2nd/3rd gen kpop lmao 6. I've never been one to sing along to anything besides in my head, unless it's a Dead Can Dance song glossolalia track 7. Diener Eines Geistes by Lacrimosa! Very dramatic, would perform 10/10 8. Male Tears! Although they're pretty big already - ah, there's this Korean traditional fusion/gothic metal band... 9. I've never been that lucky to be able to listen to an artist/band before they got famous, unfortunately. 10. I used to play the cello. Can I remember how to play it now? 11. Devil by Jaurim - the lyrics talk about sacrificing one's eyes to the devil for love, which is a pretty romantic fantasy for me imo
12. I once accidentally played Lingua Franca by Girls' Generation out loud at work to my own mortification, so there's that 13. Dead Can Dance! I almost met them on a trip to DC but alas, the concert was cancelled 14. If There's No Heaven by Deceits! I've heard good things about that album, but never got around to it 15. The secret third thing is indiscriminate library shuffle 16. On Spotify - or on YouTube at 3 in the morning. Very rarely do I get something off the radio, and I don't have the opportunity for clubbing/concerts too often 17. I haven't But I almost saw Dead Can Dance once asfsadf 18. N/A 19. I think 2009? I never enjoyed my parents' music and they discouraged any other genres but what they listen to (and classical music). Soundtracks were my compromise - enough to make them uncomfortable but not enough that they'd take off the radio (it's the reason I got my first iPod!) 20. Korean pop rock band Jaurim! I encountered their music as a teenager and they're the closest I ever got to being saved by an artist, besides the Cocteau Twins and Joy Division of course!

Ooh I’m late but I love doing these kinds of things!
1. I think Blinded by Brand of Sacrifice and Unrecognisable by Vomit Forth (unfortunate name but hey)! 2. Monster Magnet (my favourite band of all time who I recommend to no one), Lord of the Lost and Versailles! Usually I can’t listen to one band for very long, though, no matter how much I like them. 3. Strawberry Gashes by Jack Off Jill for sure. Razorblade by Blue October, Weak and Powerless by A Perfect Circle, BABYLON'S TABOO by the GazettE and Pure Morning by Placebo have been some fun additions recently, especially Pure Morning because I can loop it indefinitely. 4. I don’t think I have specific songs for when I’m angry; if I get angry enough I just get frustrated by music, unfortunately. 5. Children Go Bang by Nekromantik, which always goes on my getting-ready playlist, plus songs that can make me laugh like Killdozer by Kim Dracula or anything by Murderdolls. 6. Pure Morning again!! Or Tainted Love by Soft Cell whenever it comes on anywhere. 7. Oh, there’s so many… but honestly right now I mostly wish I could perform my own music, because I have so many half-written songs and no band at the moment. :( 8. Unlucky Morpheus! They’re symphonic and metal but not quite "symphonic metal" and their violinist is incredible. Also Boy Harsher. They’re not obscure by any means as far as darkwave artists go but I’ve only heard them played once at the club and nobody recognised the song (it was Yr Body is Nothing). 9. I have two very different ones… the first is The Living Tombstone, who I don’t listen to at all anymore, but I listened to him before his first big hit song (Discord…) came out and now he's such a household meme name he's the end credits music for the FNaF movie, haha! The second is RYUJIN, who aren't strictly popular now, but they recently changed their name from GYZE and are trying to make it outside Japan, so it feels good as someone who's been following them since 2019 that they’re touring worldwide and I got to take my friends to one of their shows :3 10. Drums and percussion (I played the orchestral glockenspiel in high school), a bit of guitar when I vibe with a song enough to want to learn it and I like to think I can sing (others may disagree when they hear me though)! 11. I’m struggling to think of one? Maybe Blood & Glitter by Lord of the Lost, because I ended up going on a massive trip to Eurovision in a fit of autistic madness brought on by that song, the only Eurovision song ever to be created by a band I actually recognise. 12. I have no shame! That said, it takes a certain level of friendship for me to bring out the brony dubstep. >:3 13. I wish I could’ve met Pete Burns from Dead or Alive when he was alive! It would have been an odd conversation, if nothing else. 14. I deep dive a lot but I’m planning to soon familiarise myself a bit better with the chronologies of D, Megaromania and Phantasmagoria. 15. I’ll listen to albums first, then make my own playlists and listen to those. But always albums first, because that’s how the songs were originally intended to be enjoyed a lot of the time. 16. I think someone else on here said this but I like to look at "similar artists" to artists I already like! As well as YouTube recommendations, wiki walks or sometimes through Tumblr if someone I follow posts about a band enough. 17. I uh. Yeah I went to way too many concerts last year alone and burned myself out. Yeah… 18. Probably my favourite thing I’ve done concert-wise is seeing Lord of the Lost a ludicrous number of times last year, though in terms of best singular concert I was raving about Sabaton's pyrotechnics for months after I saw them. 19. When I was super young, because I was lucky enough to have a parent whose attitude to musicians was "I hate this, but you might like it!" so he'd introduce me to The Cure and The Sisters of Mercy and A Flock of Seagulls and Visage and so forth and then he'd let me just explore similar-sounding stuff on my own since he didn’t want to hear it lmao. We do share some taste though! 20. I think Corinne Bailey Rae and Alice Cooper had a similar level of hold over child me, haha. Getting into The Damned definitely changed me as a person, though.

i am incredibly late to this thread but i wanted to add as it seemed like fun! :-) What song have you listened to most recently? master & servant by depeche mode What artist(s) can you never get enough of? depeche mode, my chemical romance, amy winehouse, the garden, placebo… so many!! What song(s) do you listen to when you're sad? this might be the lamest, male manipulator-y answer ever but my sad go to is the smiths haha Favorite song(s) when you're angry? i have a playlist i like to listen to when i’m angry that has a mix of loud songs from artists like linkin park, jack off jill, korn, system of a down, & a bunch more Song(s) that gets you hyped? if blue monday by new order comes on i WILL dance to it, no exceptions Song(s) that you HAVE to sing along to? so many! although the first song that comes to mind is thank you for the venom by mcr Song(s) that you wish you could perform/sing? if i could sing well i would perform decode by paramore (although this doesn’t stop me from loudly singing along to it in the shower and in my car haha) What artist do you think more people should listen to? a few artists that i think are underrated are anita velveeta, static dress, & babes in toyland Who is your "I heard them before they were cool" artist, if you have one? not sure that i have one tbh! i mean i’ve listened to multiple artists before they blew up on tiktok i suppose but they were already pretty popular by then Do you play any instruments (vocals count)? i play piano (poorly) What song, if any, has a special meaning or story for you? so many songs are near and dear to my heart. one that comes to mind is but not tonight by depeche mode as it’s my dad’s favorite dm song and i was raised on them What song/artist is your guilty pleasure (or would be, if you aren't the type to feel ashamed)? i don’t believe in guilty pleasures… i will proudly rap every lyric to gucci gucci by kreayshawn and dance a$$ remix by big sean and nicki minaj haha What artist, if any, do you wish you could meet (or, if you've already met them, how did that go)? i would love to meet 100 gecs (especially laura les) as they seem so funny and genuine What artist/album/etc have you been wanting to deep dive when you get the time, if any? i’ve been meaning to listen to the rest of the violent femmes discography as their first album (self titled) is one of my favorite albums of all time. i just haven’t really gotten around to listening to the rest of their music for some reason Playlists or albums (or a secret third thing)? ALBUMS!!!! front to back always How do you usually discover new music? though friends, through the internet, through my parents, etc. if i hear a snippet of something i like i always try to save it to my spotify to listen to later Have you ever been to a live performance? If so, what artist(s)? here is my collective list of concerts so far (not including small venue house shows or non-music acts) 2009: demi lovato 2011: big time rush 2013: p!nk 2014: katy perry 2016: twenty one pilots, panic! at the disco 2018: billie eilish, smashing pumpkins 2019: marina 2021: the garden 2022: marina, mitski, slayyyter, alice in chains + bush + breaking benjamin, nine inch nails, bikini kill, my chemical romance, the garden + machine girl 2023: depeche mode, placebo, rico nasty, the cure 2024: anita velveeta, sir chloe If you've been to multiple, which was your favorite? mcr!!!!!! my friend somehow managed to get us pit tickets and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life When did you first start listening to music on your own? that’s a good question!!!! i guess my first cd that i bought myself and not music that i found through my parents was teenage dream by katy perry which i think i bought in 5th grade What was your first favorite artist (or the first one that had the most impact on you)? are the wiggles a valid answer here? haha. my parents said that as a baby i would make them play my wiggles cd over and over and over again
